- Trivia
It opens on a title card swearing it's a true story, told "exactly as it occurred". It isn't — one of the writers eventually admitted "the only thing true about it is that it's a story" — and the standard fictitious-persons disclaimer is tucked at the end. The main theme is a Norwegian folk tune called "The Lost Sheep". The winter of 1995 was so short of snow that the snowbound scenes had to move up to the Canadian border, where a 24-foot Paul Bunyan statue was built for it and then dismantled.
