    One number is set in an army draft office. The recruits are stripped to their underwear and marched down an assembly line by drill sergeants in masks. The Uncle Sam poster on the wall comes to life and grabs one of them. Then those same recruits carry the Statue of Liberty on their shoulders across a model of bombed-out Vietnam. Its director had won a Tony nine years earlier for The Lion King, the first woman to win one for directing a musical.
