Name reveals in 2 guesses
A cold dessert assembled in a bowl rather than cooked as one: sweetened sticky rice, chewy sago pearls, short green pandan-jelly noodles, cubes of gelatine and of coconut jelly, all steeped in sweetened coconut milk and served chilled — and then, most distinctively, a whole slice of plain white bread laid on top to soak in the liquid. The name translates roughly as "golden cool heart", and it is most closely associated with the water festival that marks the new year in mid-April, when it is sold and handed out to cool people down.
