An espresso-based coffee drink topped with steamed milk, poured at a higher proportion of espresso to milk than a latte and without the thick foam cap of a cappuccino. A typical build is a double shot under about 130 ml of steamed milk with a 5 mm layer of microfoam — textured smooth and glossy rather than airy, which is what lets a barista draw a pattern on the surface. Served in a smaller cup than a latte, it tastes correspondingly stronger.
Ingredients
- espresso
- steamed milk
- microfoam
